Medisco project was presented by Marcello Aprile in the 3rd International Conference Solar Air-Conditioning "Otti" which was held in Palermo - Italy during September 30th/October 2nd, 2009.

MEDISCO project was selected from 769 projects submitted from 111 nations to win a prestigious National Energy Globe Award for Tunisia for 2009. The award celebration was held in Prague -Czech, and Osama Ayadi from Polimi received the award.

the 3rd Medisco meeting was held at the Energy Department of Politecnico di Milano between the 9th and the 11th of March 2009.

February, 17^th   2009

Medisco 4th meeting is planned to be held in the new campus of Politecnico di Milano, in the period between 10-11th March.

September, 10^th   2008

MEDISCO partners participating in the events of EUROSUN2008 conference decided to held an intermediate project meeting to discuss the progress of the project activities and to share ideas.

Moreover, this would be a good chance for the dissemination of the project as Polimi and ISE participated in a paper that  will presented in the conference.

 It should be mentioned that EUROSUN2008 is the first international conference about solar heating, cooling and buildings and will take place in Lisbon between the 7^th and the 10^th of October.

June, 17 2008 

The third Medisco meeting was held at the Palais des Congrès  in Perpignan in France. In addition to the intensive internal meetings done among the partners, the meeting arrangement happening together with the events of DERBI 2008 international Conference gave the opportunity for two of Medisco partners to present the project for a wide group of renewable energy experts.  

Partners presented the project status and discussed the next steps in the project. A complete list of the presentations done within the meeting can be found on the member’s private area.

March 17,2008 

The next Medisco meeting will be in Perpignan between the 4^th and the 6^th of June.

This timing would be compatible with DERBI International conference (where TECSOL will make 2 presentations about MEDISCO) This session will take place on Thursday 5^th June  in the afternoon. So our meeting will be:

4^th of June in the afternoon.

5^th of June in the morning and then Tecsol presentations.

6^th of June full day.  

4th March 2008 

Partners from CDER participated in the international course about Solar Cooling which  was held at Politecnico di Milano between the 4^th and the 11^th  of March where Lecturers from several European institutes (Polimi, Stuttgart and  Chalmers) took part in the lecture.The main topics discussed in the course were:

·         Solar Cooling technology

·         Cooling load calculations,

·         Planning issues of open sorption, absorption and adsorption cooling systems.

·         Solar and cooling district heating systems.

A comprhensive evaluation of medium temperature solar themal collectors has started. The evalutaion aims to select the most appropriate collectors for the two experimental sites. Collector manufacturers are being contacted in order to assess performance, durability, production capacity and cost of their products.
